REVIEW: Two months after Carter and Sadie saved the world by destroying the Red Pyramid, they discover that Apophis is stirring. If he arises he will swallow the sun plunging the world into eternal chaos. The only hope for mankind is if Carter and Sadie are able to find the three scrolls of Ra and awaken the sleeping god. The search for the three scrolls takes them to Brooklyn, London, St. Petersburg, and Egypt. Many of the same characters assist Carter and Sadie in their quest, as well as newcomers Bes, Walt, and Jaz. Although Ra is not quite what they expected, they are able to defeat Apophis and save the world again...for now.
OPINION: This was a worthy sequel to The Red Pyramid. Fans of Rick Riordon will not be disappointed in this installment. It is full of action, adventure, humor, and a bit of romance. The book will appeal to both boys and girls.
IDEAS: This book could be used in conjunction with the study of Egyptian history and mythology.
